Business Process & Workflow
The defining element of business process and workflow design is the specification of coordinated actions to produce business results. When designed properly business processes and workflows are:
 |
Efficient, producing the desired business results with a minimum investment in human effort, money, technology, and materials |
 |
Adaptable, being able to handle exceptions and unexpected circumstances gracefully and efficiently |
 |
Self-healing, with the ability to quickly, effectively, and efficiently address breakdowns in the process or workflow and return to an optimal state |
 |
Coherent, sharing common language, logic and methodology in their design and implementation |
 |
Integrated, so that the design of each process and workflow is done with awareness of all other related processes and workflows, eliminating the redundant design of solutions to the same problem in different parts of the enterprise, and maximizing the ability to leverage each design that is created |
When designing the actions in a business process, there are three distinct types of inter-actions that must adressed: Human to Human; Human to Technology; and Technology to Technology. All three are critical to the design of effective business processes; each has unique requirements that must be met.
We use a results-based modeling approach to designing and implementing
business processes. By focusing on results, and on the actions essential
to produce those results, we rapidly develop lasting, effective models
for implementing optimum business processes.
